"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:13-14
As children of God we have been redeemed from the curse through Jesus Christ! The curse has been listed very clearly in Deuteronomy 28. One of the foremost and primary things that is listed as a curse in this chapter is sickness and disease. God even said, “Everything that is written and everything that is unwritten,” meaning any sickness, or any disease is a curse.
In Galatians 3:13-14, God says that Jesus Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law. He was made that curse for you on the cross. “For cursed is every one that hangs on a tree.” Why? That the blessing of Abraham might come upon you, a gentile. That means anyone who is not Jewish born. You may not be of a Jewish lineage, but you as a child of God can tap into the promise that God made to Abraham and his descendants. In God’s covenant to Abraham he promised to guide, protect, lead, reward and heal. That covenant that God made to Abraham was fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. And so we who believe on Jesus and put our faith in Him are a part of that covenant relationship with God.
