"If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you." Exodus 15:26
We are connected to the covenant that God made with Abraham. Galatians 3:29 says, "If you belong to Christ, you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." As children of God, we have a covenant with God through faith in Jesus Christ. And part of that covenant being a covenant of healing.
Exodus 15:25-26, tells the story of the the Israelites walking around in the wilderness for three days without water. Then they came to the waters of Marah hoping to get a drink, but they could not drink the water because it was bitter. Verse 25 says, "So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them."
Moses called out to the Lord for help. God showed him a tree and told him to put it into the water and the waster was made sweet. This was a miracle. This is supernatural. You can’t just put a tree in bitter water and then all of a sudden it becomes sweet. But if God says, “Put that tree into the water,” then it becomes sweet. And I believe it was the same type of tree that the cross was made of that Jesus Christ hung on and bore our sin and our sickness. He bore our bitterness. He exchanged our sin for righteousness, exchanged our sickness for health, and our bitterness for joy and peace and contentment in Christ.
In the place where the bitter water was turned sweet, God made a covenant with His people. He said in the latter part of verse 26, “I am the Lord who heals you.” In Christ there is divine healing—supernatural healing, beyond what medical doctors can do and beyond what medical science has attained to. There is healing in Christ that is beyond natural elements that are in the earth that are given by God. There is a supernatural element that God has graced us with, and that is His divine healing. God is the Healer just as He declares Himself to be and He has made a covent promise with His children to that healing belongs to them through the redemptive work that His Son Jesus did on the cross. Healing belongs to you!
